Timothy Yang, winner of the 2023 New Orleans Piano Institute Concerto Competition, will perform the Saint-Saëns Piano Concerto No. 2, in G Minor, Op. 22, I. Andante.
The all-French program will also include works by Gounod, Berlioz, and Bizet.

Timothy Yang is 14 years old and is a four time US National Gold Medalist awarded by the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM). He has performed at Carnegie Hall three times, debuting at the age of 8.
Over the past year, Timothy appeared in several competitions and festivals. In December 2022, he placed third in The Bohemians New York Musicians’ Club’s Young Artists Piano Competition. In March 2023, Timothy won first prize in the Radda Rise International Piano Competition. Timothy was a finalist in the American Bach Society’s Ruth Monte Bach Memorial Competition in June 2023. He also participated in the Advanced Piano Seminar at the Colburn Music School. In July 2023, he made his orchestral debut at the Piano Concerto Festival in Faro, Portugal and placed first in the Concerto Competition held by the Musical Arts Society of New Orleans and the New Orleans Piano Institute. In August 2023, he placed third at the Pacific Stars International Piano Competition. In October 2023, he received an Honorable Mention at California’s MTNA Competition.
Timothy has been studying with Dustin Gledhill since the age of 6 and resides in Palos Verdes Estates, CA. Aside from his music studies, Tim enjoys playing golf, eating sushi, and listening to jazz, and he has a brown belt in Aikido.
The New Orleans Piano Institute Concerto Competition, sponsored by Hall Piano Company and the Steinway Society of New Orleans, is part of the annual New Orleans Piano Institute (NOPI) and Keyboard Festival.
