About the Artist
Chinese-American pianist Adria Ye has been driven from a young age by a hopeless fascination with music. Described by cellist David Finckel as having a “naturally beautiful sound and lyric instinct,” and by the Boston Musical Intelligencer as possessing “micro control of articulation, dynamics color, and rubato, all to convincing musical effect,” Adria has performed as soloist with ensembles including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, Sinfonia Smith Square, the Beaufort Symphony Orchestra, and the Aspen Concert Orchestra. Most recently, they were a prizewinner at the 2026 Hastings International Piano Competition, and the 2026 New Orleans International Piano Competition. They were the recipient of the Paul Streit Special Prize at the 2022 Concours de Genéve.
An avid chamber musician, Adria has also participated in and performed at festivals including the Ravinia Steans Music Institute, Four Seasons Chamber Music Festival’s Spring Workshop, the Innsbrook Institute, and the David Finckel-Wu Han Chamber Music Studio at the Aspen Music Festival and School. They frequently collaborate with and perform with cellist Leland Ko.
Adria earned their Bachelor and Master of Music degrees at the Juilliard School with Yoheved Kaplinsky and Julian Martin, and a Graduate Diploma at the New England Conservatory with Wha-Kyung Byun.
