Program
A concert in 3 parts.
1st part: Romantic classical music by little-known European and New Orleans composers.
2nd part: French classical music and music from French cinema.
3rd part : own compositions
Benjamin Patrier-Leitus (Bamin) is a Parisien musician currently living in New Orleans. He will be performing an eclectic program including some of his own compositions as well as works by classical New Orleans composers and more.
Benjamin loves to venture into the forgotten alleys of the romantic piano repertoire and half of his program will be focused on little-known music by European and New Orleans composers such as Oskar Merikanto, Carl Filtsch, Babadjanian, Paderewski, Gottschalk, Basile Barès. Benjamin will also perform music by women composers such as Mel Bonis, Fanny Mendelssohn, Clara Wieck-Schumann. Also featured will be the works of French composers: Francis Poulenc, Gabriel Fauré, Reynaldo Hahn and Charles-Valentin Alkan (who was friend with Liszt and Chopin). Benjamin will end the concert with music from the French cinema and perform (for the first time) a few of the songs from his new EP!
